Registration

Reserving your child’s space requires a 1-month Security Deposit Fee paid in advance. Your security deposit is held until your child’s last month of care with us.  We ask for 30 days notice for any withdrawals and will apply your Security Deposit towards your final invoice. If less than 30 days notice is given, or cancellations over the summer months when we are closed your Security Deposit is kept in lieu of notice. 

Billing and Childcare Software

St. John’s has partnered with Kindertales as our childcare management software. All families will be sent an activation link to set up their account.  All billing and communication will be through the Kindertales app. 

Days and Hours of Operation

St. John’s Christian Nursery School operates September to June. We are closed over the summer months of July and August. Our first day of our school year is the Wednesday after the Labour Day weekend.

We close for 2 weeks at Christmas, 1 week at March Break, and all stat holidays. The daily fee is applicable during these closures.

We have a daily rate for all our programs, which will be billed monthly. This monthly rate will fluctuate based on the number of days of operation in the upcoming month.  Since school expenses continue whether your child is present or not, we are not able to offer refunds or discounts for absenteeism due to children’s sick days, vacations, or inclement weather closures.

The Region of Waterloo is pleased to offer OneList, an online centralized registry and waitlist that simplifies the process of applying for early learning and child care: www.OneListWaterlooRegion.ca

Our waitlist priority is as follows:

• Current St. John’s families and siblings
• St. John’s Alumni families
• Families from the Trillium Community
• Regional onelist in the order the application was received

OneList Waterloo Region is a centralized application and waitlist management system for parents and caregivers to find and apply for licensed early learning and child care programs in the Region of Waterloo.

To apply for a space at our program please go to OneList Waterloo Region and create an account:

1. Enter an email address that you use regularly and check often.
2. You will receive an email with a link for setting your password, click the link.
3. Follow the prompts to create your password.

Next, follow these steps for the application process:

1. 1. Enter your information (My Details)
   2. Enter your child’s information (My Children)

Fee Subsidy:

• If you think you will need help paying for child care, choose “I need help to pay my child care costs”.
• If you would like more information about Child Care Subsidy, click the link here, or on the OneList application                        

Continue applying for child care:

1. 1. Choose a Preferred Start Date, select the Days of the Week that care is required and answer some Additional Questions
   2. Click Save and Continue to next step to apply to programs

1. 1. • Note: To find our program on OneList, choose Centre-based, then click Show Programs. 
      • You will see the List View and the Map View
      • Look through the List View to find our program, click Apply
